What is a 'Data Management Telematics'?

What is a 'Data Management Telematics'?
According to the DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access), Data Management is the development and application architecture, policies, practices, and procedures to properly handle the complete life cycle of the data required by a company. Thus, data management telematics is a procedure that handles the full life cycle of the data required by the company with the help of telematics.

Data Management in telematics consists of 3 kinds, namely:

1.Client Side Data Management (Client-side data management)
Data management occurs on the client side we can see in DBMS below.
Mobile DBMS (Embedded / Ultra tiny / Java Database)
It is a DBMS that found on mobile devices (mobile device). mobile DBMS is a special version of a department or enterprise DBMS. It is designed for use with remote users who are not connected to the network. DBMS enables mobile access to local databases and the modification on a laptop or handheld device, like a Palm PDA or Pocket PC. Furthermore, mobile DBMS provides a mechanism for synchronizing remote database changes in a centralized, enterprise or departmental database server.

2. The Data Management Server (Server-side data management)
Data Management which occurred on the server side we can see in the following DBMS versions.
MODBMS (Moving Object DBMS)
MODBMS (Moving Objects DBMS) is a DBMS that stores and manages the location information and other dynamic information about moving objects. MODBMS allows one to represent moving objects in the database and to ask questions about the movement. MODBMS area is relatively unexplored field of Spatial RDBMS or DBMS in which some work has been done in the standardization and commercialization. There are several research prototypes to MODBMS like dominoes but few MODBMS commercial product. Moving objects can be classified into the moving points and moving regions. Moving objects relevant only depends on the time position in space. They can be cars, trucks, aircraft, ship or mobile users. Move the object moves to the image such as hurricanes, forest files, oil spills, disease outbreaks, and so forth. Move the position and geometry of objects change with time while moving points, just change the position of objects.

Applications on MODBMS:
· DBMS for LBS (Location-Based Service)
· LBS (Location-based Services)
· Transportation
· Vehicle tracking
· Reference: Domino (Databases for Moving Objects tracking)

The data stream management system
Unlike traditional DBMS, DSMSs continuously to execute queries over continuous data streams that enter and leave the system in real-time, ie the data is only stored in main memory for processing. Stream data may be sensor readings, data, stock market, or the net - working traffic. Querying the data stream (sensor data, GPS).

Applications on Data stream management system:
· Telematics (vehicle fleet management)
· sensor monitoring stream
· Environment monitoring
· Reference: TelegraphCQ, Aurora

Applications on Data stream management system:

3. Base data management system of mobile devices:
1) Allows for install in embedded devices
2) Data Replication and synchronization to the traditional enterprise database

Applications on Data stream management system:
· Finance
· mobile office
· mobile sales
